Esomeprazole is used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions associated with excess stomach acid, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Esomeprazole is also used to accelerate the healing of erosive esophagitis (damage to the esophagus caused by stomach acid)

EPRAKAST (Esomeprazole) Esomeprazole is used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions associated with excess stomach acid such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Esomeprazole is also used to accelerate the healing of erosive esophagitis (damage to the esophagus caused by stomach acid).
40 mg of esomeprazole once daily for 4 weeks after IV-induced prophylaxis of rebleeding of peptic ulcer disease. The recommended starting dose is 40 mg of esomeprazole twice a day. Then the dosage should be selected individually and continued treatment as long as it is clinically indicated.
