IRITERO (Irinotecan) Irinotecan belongs to semi-synthetic drugs and is a camptothecin derivative . Specific inhibitor of topoisomerase I (cellular enzyme). In tissues, under the influence of carboxylesterase, the drug is biotransformed with the formation of a pharmacologically active metabolite SN-38 , which has high activity.

Irinotecan and its metabolite, inhibiting topoisomerase , damage the structure of DNA , thereby disrupting the process of its reproduction in the S-phase of the cell cycle. It also has anticholinesterase activity.
