Tenof EM (Tefonovir & Emtricitabine) is the official generic antiretroviral drug Truvada (original name of Gilead) from the Indian manufacturer Hetero Labs Ltd.

Tenof Em is a combination of two antiretroviral drugs used to treat and prevent HIV infection. It can be taken simultaneously by persons over 18 years of age in combination with similar drugs. It contains 300 mg of tenofovir (as a prodrug of tenofovir disoproxil fumarate) and 200 mg of emtricitabine. Together, they prevent the virus from spreading in the human body. Combining the two drugs in one pill reduces the number of pills the patient has to take daily and increases antiretroviral therapy compliance.
